Purpleheart Slim Pen

When freshly cut the heartwood of purpleheart can be a dull grayish/purplish brown. Upon exposure, usually within a few days, the wood becomes a deeper eggplant purple. With further age and exposure to UV light, the wood becomes a dark brown with a hint of purple.

After turning, shaping and sanding the pen blank to its size, the blanks are then torched (with a flame) to bring out its richness in purple, giving the end product a deep purple colour. Finished with shellawax, this will retain its deep purple colour to lengthen the lifetime of the pen.

This is one of a kind pen, I may make more in the future if materials are available.
